Autism and the Early Years
Over the years I have worked in a variety of early years settings including Child Development Centres, nurseries and schools with designated provisions for Autistic children.
Long waiting lists for diagnosis and support, navigating the EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) process and finding suitable educational settings can make the early years a challenging time for families. I am trained and experienced in using different interventions that place the child and parent at the centre of therapy, and include education staff on the journey. I adapt interventions to meet the needs of your individual child, and avoid elements that are not neurodiversity affirming.
I consider a child’s wellbeing, interests and sensory processing, and I am a trained Forest School Leader to enable me to work outdoors.
